Jet Carrying US Defense Secretary Required to Land in UK Due to Crack in Windshield
A plane ferrying Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth was forced to make an unplanned landing in the United Kingdom on Wednesday after a crack was identified in the aircraft's cockpit window, as stated by an official announcement which verified that all passengers were secure.
"The aircraft landed in accordance with standard protocol and all individuals on the flight, such as Secretary Hegseth, is secure," a spokesperson said in a public statement.
Hegseth was returning from a brief trip to the city of Brussels at the time.
This occurrence does not mark the first occasion that a United States armed forces jet ferrying a high-ranking official has encountered equipment failures.
Months ago, a US Air Force plane carrying Marco Rubio to Munich was forced to head back to the US capital after experiencing a technical issue.
